micro-transactions

we all know by now that dust will be paid for buy micro-transactions instead of a subscription i was just wondering does anybody know what we will be buying and for how much because i dont want to buy every gun, armour or bit of ammo i use that would ake the buzz out of it and would much rather pay a sub

but if we are just buying things that have no affect on gameplay or only slight affects like a new skin for my gun or special ammo that i can handle

Well my guess would be that their will either be A: Powerful weapons/armour/modules/ammo/ect
or B: Cool looking weapons/armour or C: Combination of A and B.

D: Items for your apartment on the War Barge + A and B

That would kinda suck... tbh. Although there should be enough content as is to satisfy everyone? Maybe it'll be like XBL store for your avatar? So i'm siding with dachucky here

I think it would be cool to have a personal armory in your apartment were you can see all your guns and equipment on a rack.

I endorse this post.

This would be the pinnacle of awesome if you can customise your guns, and those custom models were the ones displayed.

/me drools at the amount of awesome.

I believe the micro transactions are purelly for your Avatar/character progression. Not game content as such.

Any thing game related such as Weapons/ammo/Armour/shields and Vehicles (Ground or Air), will more than likely be bought and paid for with ISK from subsequent investment from alliances or eve corps.

Things such as Apartment spaces, Apartment furnishings and galleries for inviting your friends over for a look at your recent victories and such, i would imagine would fall under the micro transaction process.

Perhaps if there were special advancement bonus's that you purchase (like implants) that could effect the max speed of a vehicle or the fire rate of a weapon, then i guess people could invest in their characters, rather than grinding away on missions to earn these bonus's. These would be beneficial if say you wanted your character to get ahead of the influx of merc soldiers on the ground so you can get into your very own MCC and control the battle your way.

No i heard that certain weapons will be bot with micro transactions you wont be buying furniture lul in an fps i don't think so. also would be cool if u had a shooting range along with the weapons in your ship room.

Its not just a FPS its a MMO as well.

I find it rather intimidating to say the least that CCP would offer you in game items for Real Money, as under CCP's T&C's in EVE. In game items have no monatary value therefore CCP would be breaking their own Rules. For those players with deep pockets would be expecting then to be able to purchase a "I WIN" gun. Not ideal game balancing!

What is a microtransaction?

The EULA for DUST will be different to EVE in that case. I'm sure the fancy lawyer they hire to help them draw it up would spot that a mile away.

From the fanfest presentation (it's up in yotube also I think) I understood that you will be buying sort of 'levels'. But you will not be able to just buy win. It will just cost you some to evolve into next level once you have achived it.

Ofc they used more words and did not quite call it levels. It sounded more like somekind of 'achivement' system, with bigger equipment requiring some achivements or trees of achivements. That you have to pay for once you have earned them.

Or you can keep using your peashooter to put tiny holes into your opposition until they die of irritation.

But your right in what you say.

Whether this will work with anything you can buy using the micro-transactions, who knows? (Answer: CCP)

i just dont think as many people will buy the game if you need to pay for guns furniture fine , exp fine as long as you still get it from killing as well, but not guns armour or any equipment cause that means bigger your pocket bigger your chance to win

I would rather pay 5-10 dollars a month over micro transactions. I don't like playing games where I miss out on content because I don't want to pay a dollar here and a dollar there.

It's a FPS before it's an MMO, CPP would be moronic to Micro transact weapons, armor, or anything else that would give a richer person an advantage. I won't be playing long if I find out some rich guy can kick my ass easily only because his real life money allows him to.

Like I said - I hope that the stuff you get through microtransations are just awesome extras that do not heavily impact on battlefield performance.

If otherwise, I guess it just means they will need 10 rich players or 15 normal players to kill me.

Most companies that do micro transactions (besides the korean ones) just stick with items to make your e-peen look bigger.

Usually them "e-peen" does a hella-va beating compared with the guns bought through standard game currency. >_<
