Your EVE PC/Laptop

Well I'm new here. I used to play EVE a long time ago (around Revelations), and am thinking about getting back into it. However, my current PC doesn't support it (no shader model 2.0 thing), and my motherboard doesn't support the new graphics cards that can. That leaves me no choice but to buy a new PC/laptop. So I was wondering what graphics cards you guys use, how much RAM you have, and the processor you use too. I don't want to fork out to much cash, but I want something that is high end enough to be"future proof" for the next few years at least.

Well I can tell you, some of my setup is quite crazy and way beyond what you need for EVE. Still, I'll post it.

CPU: i5 750
RAM: 4GB
Video Card: Nvidia GTX285
Hard Drives: 2x 320 GB Seagate Barracuda in RAID 0
Monitors: 22&quot; ASUS and 24&quot; LG (Sorry, models for the monitors are escaping me ATM)

And as always, building a PC yourself is heaps cheaper than buying one form a big brand name. As for the places to go, and the sites to visit - that depends on where in the world you call home. You should like you know where they are, so you should be all good. <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) -->

Yeh. I was aware of the system requirements thing on EVE. But I've heard that people still complain about bad performance during medium sized PvP battles, even though they meet the recomended system requirements

I have been in a few POS bashes with over 200 in action and I haven't seen to much lag maybe a little from the DSL players but that's really it... i 'm playing with a 2.5 G Hz Quad Core processor,4gigs of ram and a 9800gtx with a 1gig vid ram on a cable connection.

Greets...

My rig is overkill for a single client player, but I multibox 5 accounts from a single PC.

Here are the spec's for my rig

MY GOD MAN!!! the lag is on ccp`s end. Pvp lag has been going downhill forever if you had a computer with all the best insides available you'd still have HUGE lag in a large fleet battle

Also, I'm not a fan of AMD stuff (except the ATI graphics cards).

less than $1200 last October.
the case was rmf from cooler master so saved some cash there, the 2nd monitor i had from old pc and the keyboard i won at a lan center for being the only person to put up with AOC for 2 hours with out getting a prolapse in my anus.

the phenom has been awesome the 4850's les so but i will be spending some tax money on upgrading those this year

with the retarded amount of time i spend on this thing i figured i could be nice to myself and build a good upgradeable pc.
