Whereas on PC one guy will throw out an excellent map or two for free in a similar time period.
Contrary to popular belief, there are console gamers that stick with games.
A big reason why those that move to the "latest, greatest" do what they do is because the discs themselves couldn't be updated like Online PC games such as EVE can. The solution to this is simple:
Market an updated version of the console game every year or so, like an Expansion. Series such as TimeSplitters, Halo and Call of Duty have done something like this. If you have such an addicting game as EVE, you can continue marketing the latest versions of DUST, assuming it has great replay value.
I'm not a troll, Ferrogel. Nor am I stupid. But you annoy me. The aforementioned points made about EVE players possibly being able to help themselves directly from the PC, and your snide remark concerning my idea to level the playing field between a PC Player and Console Player, would wreck the whole concept of the game being for Console Players. Why even market it for consoles if you're going to discontinue updating a console game and moving it to PC and/or rendering it useless to play versus a PC Player?
My final thoughts:
If the game succeeds in the console market, forget PC.
If the game flops in the console market, put it on PC.
But we couldn't stand it being for both.
Many Console Gamers are betting on this kind of game. Most of my friends who have seen the trailer are already hooked, and if it performs/sells beyond your expectations I don't see why you would want to take that away from us. If it sucks, you can have it.
But of course, it's out of our hands in the end. You can anticipate all you want of CCP's actions, but unless you work there I doubt either of us have a say in it, nor really know what's going to happen. I just hope, assuming it's a success, that your prediction turns up false.
